About Jessica
Jessica “Jes” Waters brings over two decades of clinical experience and a rare, integrative approach to addiction counseling and psychotherapy. As a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (Kansas) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (Nebraska), she blends evidence-based clinical treatment with holistic health and wellness coaching, HeartMath-certified nervous system regulation, and specialized training in trauma and grief. Her work goes beyond conventional talk therapy — weaving in holistic nutrition coaching, expressive arts, and guided therapeutic imagery to support healing at every level: mind, body, and spirit. Whether you're navigating addiction recovery, processing trauma or loss, or simply seeking a more whole-person path to wellness, Jessica offers a depth of credentialed expertise paired with a genuinely integrative, compassionate approach — care designed to meet you wherever you are, and help you get to where you're going.
Jes's commitment to this work is deeply personal. In 2005, she lost her brother to addiction — a loss that set her on a path toward understanding the roots of substance use, not just its symptoms. Her own journey through addiction and into recovery, now spanning 20 years of sobriety, gave her firsthand insight into what true healing requires: not willpower alone, but a reweaving of the nervous system, the mind, and the spirit. Navigating cancer recovery and the ongoing realities of chronic illness and pain has deepened that understanding further, teaching her what it means to hold hope and resilience alongside real limitation. Jessica's approach doesn't chase the symptom of addiction — it goes after the trauma and grief that so often fuel it, retraining the brain and nervous system for lasting recovery rather than temporary abstinence. Her path is interfaith and interspiritual, and intentionally not 12-Step mandated — honoring that restoration of mind, body, and spirit looks different for everyone, and that longevity in recovery comes from finding what's true for you.
